We thought you'd like to know a little bit
about the people who work here at Adventure Damascus and SunDog Outfitter. These are the folks who keep your bicycle running smoothly, take your
reservations for shuttles and bike rentals and guide you to some of the
rarest eco-hotspots in the United States.
At Adventure Damascus we love to have fun so
don't be surprised if we act a little crazy, tease you, tell you some jokes
or try to get you to laugh. It's all in good fun and it's all good! After
all, you're on a vacation when you come to see us (whether for a few hours,
a day, or a week) so relax, have fun and tease us back! Feel free to plunk
down in "the chair" and watch some TV (History Channel and Cartoon
Network rule!) and just hang out. If your lucky you might get a cup of bike
shop coffee, rated "second worst coffee" in Damascus. You're always
welcome at Adventure Damascus.

Michael Wright is
President of Adventure Damascus. He's the one usually behind the cash
register. Michael has a Masters degree in photography, teaches at Emory
& Henry College and leads our nature photography workshops. He
likes to ride his bike to the post office and can tell you about the
history of Damascus as his ancestors came here before the town was
founded. He and his wife Kimberly have a little girl named Anna Blake so
Michael will be playing with dolls for many years to come. |

Bill
(given name
is Billy)
Leonard is our chief mechanic and also one of the owners here
at Adventure Damascus. Bill has been around bikes since he started
helping in a North Carolina bike shop when he was 10 years old. Bill has
a natural ability and aptitude for all things mechanical and his style
is intuitive and practical. He learned bike mechanics from some of the
best "old school" wrenches out there and loves few things better in life than to be
working on a bike.
Bill is married to Jackie, has a pet pig named “Krispy” who can moonwalk and a
talking bird that can imitate human bodily sounds. Bill
is a fashion maven and disciple of the Today shows Stephen Cojicaro. If
you want to know which jersey goes best with your frame color, ask Bill.

Tom
Horsch is one of the co-owners at Adventure Damascus and the primary
person behind Adventure Damascus Tours. Tom is a certified guide and is
in charge of designing and leading tours and special group outings. He
is an amateur naturalist, birder, mountain biker and loves bicycle
touring. Tom has traveled by bicycle extensively in Costa Rica, France,
Italy, Spain and Portugal and lately in the winter he heads to the rural
areas of Florida for birding and biking and future tour exploration.
Please don't ask Tom about his first bike tour when he was so concerned
with having everything "just so" for everybody else that he forgot his
own bike!
Tom was recently married to his
wife Jill and they have a son Logan, who appears in
many of our ads. Jill helps Tom
by catering the Eco-tours and supporting him in those tours. You'll see
all of them on this web site if you look closely enough. |

Louis McReynolds
has joined the Adventure Damascus/SunDog Outfitter Team as a driver and
bike mechanic. Louis is the reining state champion road bike racer
having won the Virginia Senior Olympics in his age class. Louis goes on
to compete in the National Championship Race being held at the end of
May ‘06 in Norfolk, representing Virginia. Louis has been biking for 10
years, starting with mountain bikes now focusing mainly on road biking.
Louis and his wife JoAnn have 7 kids, 14 grandchildren
and 4 great-grandchildren. (Well that explains why he didn’t start
biking until 10 years ago.) You'll find Louis at SunDog Outfitter where
he has his tools and stand all neatly arranged and in order, ready to
fix your bike! . Louis is a bit of an anomaly
around the store as he refuses to eat pork rinds, sardines, Little
Debbie cakes or anything with caffeine or sugar. How does he survive?
Look for Louis driving and wrenching at any one of our locations.
